Bearing Exports Top 1 Billion Sets Through August(11/04/2002)

| The
General Administration of Customs, People's Republic of China,
is reporting the following export statistics for ball and roller
bearings from January through August 2002.
Total
exports were 1.14 billion sets, up 7.2% from the same period
in 2001. The value of those exports was up 2%, to USD $398
million.
For August
alone, the volume was 136.9 million sets with a value of $50.5
million.
