The General Administration of Customs, People's Republic of China, has reported export statistics for ball and roller bearings, October 2002 and year-to-date through October 2002.

October exports were 130.0 million units, while September's count was 149.7 million sets and August's was 136.9 million. Both the volume of sales and the average selling price show surprising strength compared to year-to-date averages.

The average so far through 2002 has been 142.5 million sets, putting October's volume 8% below average after September's volume was 5% above normal.

For the year through October, total exports were 1.43 billion sets, 11% ahead of 2001. The value of those exports was up 3.8%.
