An Extremely Large Criminal Case of Fake Bearings of Foreign Brands such as SKF and NSK cracked in Tianjin

Recently, under the command of the Ministry of Public Security, the Economic Investigation Corps of Tianjin Public Security Bureau broke 4 criminal gangs manufacturing and selling counterfeit bearings, destroyed 17 dens selling counterfeit bearings, arrested 31 suspects, and seized over 90,000 sets of counterfeit bearings of SKF, NSK and other well-known brands as well as a large number of counterfeiting tools with the value involved nearly 100 million yuan. These criminal gangs was headed by Bo, who purchased counterfeit bearings of SKF, NSK and other international well-known brands at a low price from Shandong province, etc. for wholesale sales to other provinces in China. To obtain greater profit, Bo also purchased domestic brand bearings, and marked them with international well-known brands through a series of processing before repackaging. Within a few years time, Tianjin Xinchanghong Hardware & Bearing Trade Co., Ltd ran by Bo has become the largest wholesalers for counterfeit bearing of international famous brands within Tianjin area. It is verified that only from 2010 to 2012, the sales amount of the company was more than 100 million per month. The bearings seized in this case are found to be of 1600 specifications and models, and according to insiders these counterfeit bearings can be widely used in a variety of industries, which poses significant security risks.
