Bayi Steel CDM Project Entered Into the Income Benefit Period

Recently, No 1, 2 dry quenching residual heat utilization project gained the greenhouse gases emission reduction about 7.6 tons of carbon dioxide issued by the united nations CDM executive council, which means after several years of declaration and approval for the CDM project, Bayi steel commenced to the benefit period, which made Bayi steel the first beneficial steel enterprise in the west to gain the emission reduction, and passed the “carbon trading”.
Clean development mechanism abbreviated as CDM, is mainly for the developed country to help those developing ones to reduce the greenhouse gas emission with investment and technology, purchasing the emission reduction quantity to accomplish its own emission reduction mission.
Officially started in the April of 2007, Bayi steel CDM project reached the agreement of the purchase for emission reduction with Deutsche Bank in July, approved by the NDRC in March of 2008, and successfully registered in CDM executive council in 2009.
It is introduced that the United Nations has a strict audit on CDM project. It is complex and time-wasting for the whole audit set. With the evolution of the international climate and the rapid development of our economy, it became more difficult for CDM project application. The issued emission reduction is 76000 tons this time so that Bayi CDM carbon trading down payment will benefit more than 700000 dollars.
Dry quenching technology is up to now the main technology in domestic with energy conservation, environmental protection, consumption reducing, and synergy, which is the advanced technology of nation metallurgical industry. In the year 2007, Bayi steel started to invest and construct dry quenching equipment, with the capacity of 250 tons per hour and the relevant mating dry quenching furnace and steam turbine generator unit. Since the operation to now, dry quenching unit has already accumulated to generate power 6.07twh, delivery steam about 500000 tons and each ton of the dry quenching can reduce 100 kilograms of carbon dioxide.
