In the current longtime severe steel market situation, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. taps internal potential and further promote cost reduction and efficiency enhancement work with technical progress. Recently, it is known from Baosteel Co.,Ltd. Manufacturing Management Department that after nearly a year's exploration and practice, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. pipeline steel alloy optimization achieves breakthrough. X80 and X70 pipeline steel products per ton of steel cost reduces significantly and it possesses stable mass production capability. As of now, supply has been accumulated at more than 40,000 tons and cost reduction reaches more than 10000000.
To further enhance Baosteel pipeline steel product competitiveness, by the end of 2011, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. began pipeline steel alloy optimization exploration and tried to reduce the costly alloy accessory addition amount through the progress of production control technology. X80 and X70 pipeline steel products are the products with largest and most popular current application. Its production and sales accounts for about 80% of all pipeline steel products of Baosteel. Baosteel Co., Ltd. started research and development from X80 product. In the second half of last year, low alloy X80 pipeline steel manufacturing technology had breakthrough and device capability was further expanded. The production, marketing and research team stabilized the production process and it was equipped with mass stable production capacity. Up to now, it has produced stably nearly 40,000 tons. On this basis, the production, marketing and research team extends this technology to X70 pipeline steel products and achieves good results. It not only reduces per ton of steel cost but also optimizes performance.
Pipeline steel alloy optimization breakthrough not only further enhances Baosteel products market competitive advantage, but also enhances site manufacturing capacity. The new technology has narrow process window, thus bringing challenges to every production line and every step in the whole process production. With production, marketing and research team's active cooperation and joint research efforts, it eventually achieves breakthrough.
