High-speed Rail Bearing is Successfully Developed in Nantong

It is learned from the "Rail transportation Equipment Manufacturing 'Third Base' Technology Innovation Forum” which ended on November 22nd that the high-speed rail bearing had been successfully developed in Nantong. It is a gratifying step in the construction of Chinese precision bearing base. "Rail transportation Equipment Manufacturing 'Third Base' Technology Innovation Forum”, held by Chinese Academy of Engineering and the CSR Corporation Limited, is intended to strengthen the "three basic" (basic mechanical devices, basic manufacturing technology and basic materials) technology research and enhance the rail transportation high-end equipment manufacturing industry. From the beginning of this year, Liguodong Bearing Research Institute (LGD company) signed the technical cooperation agreement with CSR Qishuyan Locomotive & Rolling Stock Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (or “QSY”) and started to the development of high speed rail main drive gearbox bearing. On May 5th, more than 50 experts from National Development and Reform Commission, China Railway Corporation, the State Bearing Test Center and other departments visited Nantong to discuss and fully affirmed the project technical demonstration program. After several months’ efforts, LGD company has overcome the technical problems, including high material requirements, design difficulties, and complex fabrication processing, and completed the trail production of the first batch of high-speed rail bearing samples, which were shown in the results of this forum. In addition the thesis of “Technical Characteristics and Development Countermeasures of High-speed Main Drive Gearbox Bearing” written by LGD company was also included into the proceedings of this forum.
