Baosteel launched special high air-tight sealed thread oil tubing and casing BGT2 product

A few days ago, a new generation of special high air-tight sealed thread oil tubing and casing BGT2 product which is independently developed by Baosteel and has high composite loading performance passed CAL IV grade test and assessment under the most strict international ISO 13679 standard, being the first manufacturer of the special thread oil tubing and casing who has passed this assessment in China.
In recent years, in order to respond to the demand of oil and gas exploitation and development under the environment of high temperature, high pressure and high corrosion, and in order to guarantee the safety of oil and gas exploitation under the severe environment, the demand for the special thread oil tubing and casing by oil field users is rising continuously. At the same time, in order to ensure using performance of the special thread oil tubing and casing product, the oil field users at home and abroad also increased market access threshold of the high grade oil tubing and casing, and they required that the manufacturer of oil tubing and casing must pass the assessment and approval of the special thread oil tubing and casing product by the third party authority. However, for a long time, only a few foreign advanced oil tubing and casing manufacturers passed the assessment and possess the ability to develop and produce the special thread oil tubing and casing. Unfortunately, because of lack of access qualification, most domestic oil tubing and casing manufacturers are often kept out of the market.
Since last year, Golden Apple project team for "Technical research on the development and use of high grade oil well pipe product for ultra-deep-high temperature-high pressure oil gas well", consisting of Steel Pipe and Bar Technical Center of Baosteel Centre Research Institute, Pipe Processing Center of Steel Pipe and Bar Business Division of Baosteel, Seamless Steel Pipe Plant, Manufacture Management Department, Sales Department and Science & Technology Department, had quick response and efficient cooperation, and with joint efforts, independently completed the research and development of Baosteel new generation of special thread oil tubing and casing product BGT2, which passed the grade assessment test of Canadian petroleum tubular goods certification authority and the sole domestic certification authority "CNPC Tubular Goods Research Institute" once only, being the first manufacturer of the special thread oil tubing and casing who has passed the most strict third-party assessment at home and abroad.
At present, the project team has developed more than ten kinds of specifications of Baosteel new generation of special thread oil tubing and casing BGT2 products, which have been successfully used for the oil fields at home and abroad, including Tarim Oilfield, Jianghan Oilfield, Huabei Oilfield and India ONGC (national oil company), etc. Total trial-manufacture exceeds 14000t, and export of Baosteel special thread in batches is realized for the first time. This year, the project team will continue to carry out R&D and the third-party assessment work for a new generation of special thread oil tubing and casing product BGT2 of complete specifications series, to lay a good foundation for Baosteel to further expand the high grade oil tubing and casing market at home and abroad.
