NSK AIP PROGRAMME IS SET REDUCE OPERATIONAL COSTS

Visitors to this year's event will be able to see new NSK problem solving products and learn about NSK's Added Value Programme, AIP, which uses the expertise of NSK engineers to help customers improve efficiency, reduce breakdowns and improve profitability.
The AIP process involves a comprehensive review and analysis of a company's operation before making a number of recommendations for improvements which can deliver significant savings for the client. Two extensive new phone / PC Apps are available for visitors to see how substantial savings can be made and calculate actual figures for themselves.
The first App is the Cost Saving Calculator App, which is designed to help operations and maintenance managers to quickly calculate to Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for crucial bearing components before deciding on final specification.
The second is the Solutions App which is designed to help identify the root causes of problems and provide a guide to real world applications where savings have been made. Using real examples from a wide range of industries, including mining and quarrying, the App provides details on issues that have been solved and the potential savings recouped - some amounting to tens of thousands of pounds.
Both of these Apps are available in Apple, Android and PC versions and can be downloaded while visiting the NSK stand or from the multimedia page of the NSK Europe website. NSK will also be delivering live demonstrations of these Apps at 10.30am and 2.30pm each day on their stand.
NSK is also continuing to deliver a wide range of bearing products specifically designed for use in the quarrying and mining industries, each with specific benefits to both manufacturers and end users in terms of performance and longevity. Visitors will be able to see physical examples of NSK's latest designs at Hillhead 2014.
Other innovations include Molded-Oil bearings, which are designed to provide excellent performance in water and dust contaminated environments such as those found in the mining and quarrying industries. This well proven design releases the oil on demand from the internal Molded-Oil system which removes the need for re-lubrication, ideal for applications such as conveyors where maintenance access is difficult or limited.
Mounted bearings also on show from NSK incorporate a sealed single-row bearing mounted in a pillow block or flanged housing. The sealing performance has been enhanced with the addition of flinger and triple lipped seals, which keep potential contaminants away from the bearing. The housings are available in cast iron, pressed steel or stainless steel, depending on the application.
Designed for easy fitment on conveyors, feeders and general handling equipment, NSK's sealed plummer blocks provide the reliable operation demanded in quarrying and mineral extraction applications. Examples to be featured on the stand offer a robust construction, high capacity deep groove ball bearings, high efficiency steel reinforced seals and cast iron bearing covers for added protection against external contaminants.
