The projects of offshore wind power of Yancheng city in Jiangsu province ranked at the top in quantity and total scale in China

According to the First Session of the Eighth National People's Congress (NPC) of Yancheng city in Jiangsu province, 10 projects of offshore wind power of Yancheng city have been shortlisted in Development Plan of National Offshore Wind Power, with the total capacity 2.0125 million KW, which ranked at the top in quantity and total scale in China.
It is known that the power generation efficiency of offshore wind farm is around 25% higher than that on the land. The project, "Phase II Offshore Wind Power in North District of Binhai County by State Power Investment Corporation”, launched on February 12th , is equipped with 100 generators with the capacity of each unit 4 MW of power wind(400,000 KW in total) and a total investment of 6.4 billion yuan. It is remarked that the project of Phase I Offshore Wind Power in North District of Binhai County by State Power Investment Corporation has put into operation. Each of the 4 MW wind power generator, of which turbine blades are 62.5 meters long and turbines 90 meters above the sea level, can generate the power of 4000 KW/h at full load.
The offshore wind farm of Xiangshui county, not far from Binhai county, was built by Three Gorges Corporation. Being 10 kilometers off the shore and with waters 8 to 12 meters deep, it is equipped with 55 generators, of which 37 has a capacity 4 MW per unit and 18 has a capacity of 3 MW per unit. After the completion of the wind farm, the yearly capacity can reach about 493 million KW with 154,000 tons of standard coal saved and carbon dioxide emission reduced by 389,000 tons, sulfur dioxide emission decreased by 2,804 tons. At the same time, Three Gorges Group built the first offshore booster stations with a capacity of 220 KV, filling in the blank of offshore wind farms without high pressure booster stations in China.
The offshore wind farm of Dongtai city, southeast of Dongsha Shazhou with a capacity of 200 MW, was built by Luneng Group. Being 36 kilometers off the shore, it is the most complex offshore wind power project farthest away from the sea with the largest unit capacity and the highest voltage. It is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2017, which will have a yearly capacity of 528 million KW with an annual revenue of 450 million yuan and 168,000 tons of standard coal saved.
