Wanxiang Be Honored For Its Effective Quenching Method

On the 24th National QC/QA Assembly, Wanxiang Group won an great honor for their achievement on settling the quench crack problem of "-" shape shaft. For a long time, quench crack has been the major problem in the process of shaft manufacturing. Statistically, 9 percent of the discarded "-" shape shaft is caused by quench crack. To solve this problem, the heat treatment department of Wanxiang carried out a series of spot inspection, data calculating and analyzing. It took them almost 6 months to finish the research and finally they developed a effective quench method. Using this new method, the discarded rate decreased from 9 percent to 0.1 percent. This quench method will save Wanxiang RMB0.41 million yuan annually by decreasing the discarded rate. Due to its practical value, this quenching method had been awarded as National Machinery Industry Excellent QC Achievement, Excellent QC Achievement of Zhejiang province, Excellent Achievement of Zhejiang Machinery Industry, 2005 Excellent QC Achievement of Hangzhou.
