EU-China Partenariat 2006 Takes Place In Nov Next Year

The EU-China Partenariat 2006, organized by the European Commission, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Sichuan Province Government, and co-organized by Chengdu City Government, will be held in Chengdu on November 9 to 10, 2006. The event aims at providing business opportunities and creating long-term partnerships between European and Chinese SMEs through pre-scheduled one-on-one matchmaking events.
The EU-China Partenariat 2006 will involve eight major industries: agriculture processing, tourism, medical and hygiene, environmental protection, machinery and construction equipment, machine-aided processing, information, and electronic parts and components.
In particular, through the Partenariat, China's machinery and construction equipment enterprises can order middle- and high-end machine tools from German and Italian manufacturers directly, which results in cost reduction.
For the machine-aided processing industry, the Partenariat can help Chinese enterprises catch up with the professional level of heat treatment according to the rules of market economy.
It is also helpful to the high-precision mold and casting industry, helping them to produce more complicated and high-value-added products.
Some 400 European enterprises selected by the European Commission, will meet around 500 China's enterprises, one-on-one, at the Partenariat. There will be about 5,000 business matching sessions of this kind.
The EU Partenariat was first established in 1988, and had been held in Europe and Asia for 23 and 5 times respectively. Each time its success rate in business matching is 30% on average.
The first EU-China Partenariat was held in Beijing in 2003, with 382 Chinese enterprises and 298 European enterprises present and entering into 120 cooperation agreements.
