Result of 2004 China Top 100 Auto Parts Enterprises Selection

On August 8, China Auto Industrial Association together with the State Statistic Bureau announced the list of 2004 China Top 100 Auto Parts Suppliers in Changchun city, Jilin province. With annual sales of RMB20.8 billion, Wanxiang Group ranked first in the list.

This selection activity was involved all auto parts related enterprises in China except auto repairing departments. They included manufacturers of auto motors, auto bodyworks, auto and motor bike parts, auto apparatuses etc. The listed enterprises must be registered in China(except wholly foreign funded enterprises) and specialized in auto parts related manufacturing business. The list was ordered by participants' annual sales which had been previously checked reliability by the State Statistic Bureau.

In 2004, altogether 4171 auto parts manufacturers were involved in this selection activity. The total annual sales made by these enterprises hit RMB330 billion and sales of the top 100 enterprises hit RMB196.6 billion, accounted for 59.6 percent of the total. Wanxiang, Torch Automobile Group Co.,Ltd, Yucai Machinery Group Co.,Ltd, Weifang Diesel Engine Plant and Dongfeng Honda Engine are the only 5 manufacturers whose annual sales exceeded RMB10 billion. Concerning the ownership, among the top 100 enterprises, there are 60 domestic funded enterprises including 13 private enterprises and 40 joint ventures. Geographically, 78 enterprises located in middle-east China, other 22 in middle-west.

According to relevant depatments, this kind of rank statistics will be released yearly, so that we can understand the timely situation of China auto parts industry.
