Schaeffler and Porsche start their second joint season

The waiting period is over. This weekend, the new FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season will open at Silverstone. Schaeffler is entering the race again as a partner of Porsche and will therefore be actively represented again in the world’s toughest motorsport test lab. After a promising preparation stage, the partners are set on continuing with the two Porsche 919 Hybrid cars where they left off on clinching victory in the 2014 season finale in Brazil. The six-hour race at Silverstone next Saturday will be the first in a total of eight rounds, with the pinnacle event being the prestigious 24-hour race at Le Mans on June 13 and 14.

The Schaeffler Group is represented at five locations in the United Kingdom – four of them in England (Hereford, Plymouth, Sheffield, Sutton Coldfield) and one in Wales (Llanelli). The Sutton Coldfield site is located only about 100 kilometers away from Silverstone and thus offers numerous Schaeffler employees the opportunity to watch the first race of the 2015 WEC season on the tradition-steeped British race track live.
