SKF offers new Spandau immersion pump with water-cooled motor

Published on:08 Oct,2015

Gothenburg, 6 October 2015: SKF today announced the introduction of the Spandau PSC Immersion Pump with water-cooled motor. Developed to deliver water and emulsions, this multistage, centrifugal pump provides an optimal solution for electrical discharge machining (EDM).

Because EDM machines perform temperature-sensitive applications, pumps with air-cooled motors are not suitable for installation inside the machines. However, a water-cooled motor allows for efficient collection and removal of excess heat. The Spandau PSC Immersion Pump with water-cooled motor can be installed vertically inside an EDM machine, saving space and helping to ensure that machining accuracy and quality are maintained.

Designed for versatility, the pump is available in immersion depths ranging from 376 to 812 mm (14.8 to 31.9 in.). The Spandau PSC Immersion Pump is constructed of stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance.
