Schaeffler Group to start production at new plant in Czech Republic next year

Herzogenaurach, Germany – Schaeffler Group has opened a US$100-million manufacturing facility in Svitavy, Czech Republic, with manufacturing is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2016. However, it’s not a bearing plant, as the main products to be made there are thermal management modules (TMMs) for the automotive industry.

The TMM governs thermal conditions during engine operation and regulates the temperature for the entire drive system, enabling the internal combustion engine to rapidly reach optimum operating temperature.

Although most of the investment is going into new machines, the initiative will provide 960 new jobs over three years.
