Wind turbine blades firm LM Wind Power has announced plans to establish a new production plant in Vadodara, in the Indian state of Gujarat.
The proposed plant is being built in order to cater to increasing demand for blades in the country. It will initially create close to 300 jobs, primarily for the local people.
Expected to become operational in March 2016, the facility will produce 60m wind turbine blades with room for expansion, the company said.
The blades produced at the plant will be supplied to wind projects in the northern part of India and beyond.

"The Vadodara plant is a further commitment to this important market and directly supporting a customer's ambitious growth plans in India. We look forward to operating in Gujarat, helping to provide clean, affordable energy to Indian consumers and further supporting the sustainable development of the local economy."
The plant will be located in the Halol industrial area which provides easy access to a strong base of skilled employees.
The proximity to the ports in Mumbai and Kandla further supports the viability of the site which is currently being remodeled and equipped to start operations next year.
Additionally, the company is planning to increase workforce at its plant at Grand Forks, in the US state of North Dakota by adding 100 employees, Recharge reported.
