Formula E final and DTM dune spectacle for Schaeffler

Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler still has a great chance of winning the title in Formula E, while Mike Rockenfeller will be competing on one of his tracks in the DTM. The weekend on 14./15. For Schaeffler, July is all about motorsport.

Electromobility on the racetrack at the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and rousing touring car racing at the highest level in the DTM - Schaeffler proves its motorsport competence in a double pack in 2018. For the second time this season, the technology group is represented at two race events simultaneously.



The formula E carries out the final 2017/2018 in New York. The special feature: As already at the kick-off in Hong Kong, there will be a separate E-Prix on Saturday as well as on Sunday. The team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler has recently convinced with strong performances. In the past six races, at least one of the two drivers Lucas di Grassi and Daniel Abt has always been on the podium. The big highlight was the double victory at the Schaeffler home game in Berlin. With a maximum of 94 remaining points to give the team at the 2.373 kilometers long Brooklyn Circuit a realistic chance to catch up with 33 points in the team ranking.



More than 6,000 kilometers east of New York, the DTM halftime event with race numbers nine and ten takes place in Zandvoort. Schaeffler brand ambassador Mike Rockenfeller arrives with his Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM as the best-placed Audi driver. Rocky has good memories of the event in the Netherlands: he celebrated two of his five DTM victories at the Circuit Zandvoort. The 4.307-kilometer course is located in the middle of dunes directly on the North Sea coast. Drivers must be aware of both gusty wind and sand being blown onto the asphalt. The grip level can vary from round to round.



Schaeffler and Motorsport - a success story



Schaeffler can look back on a rich history in both series. Since the first Formula E season 2014/2015, the technology company has also underlined its position as a pioneer of electromobility on the racetrack. Last year Schaeffler driver Lucas di Grassi won the title. In the DTM, where classic internal combustion engines are used, Schaeffler supported drivers and teams with motorsport and technical know-how in the early years. For the eighth year now, the company is naming the Schaeffler Audi master vehicle of the years 2011 and 2013.
