Soaring Export of Hardware Products in Wenzhou

Statistics from Wenzhou customs showed that during the first quarter the local export of hardwares hit $108.02 million, increased by 57.39% from the same period last year. The top eight exported commodities are as following: faucet, plug, valve, rubber and plastic processing device, packing machine, fluid filter, transmission parts and bearings, air conditioner and its parts. Compared with traditional light industry product that used to be exported, hardware products have become another increasing source of Wenzhou's export business. Hardware products made in Wenzhou are mainly delivered to US, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Turkey, India etc. Among these countries, hardware exportd to Turkey and India had met a strong increase in first quarter by 232% and 123% from the first quarter 2005 respectively. Product exported to Turkey are mainly faucet, plug, valve and other similar ones; those exported to India are clutch, shaft coupling, packing machine and rubber/plastic processing device.
