EMO MILAN 2009 Welcomes China Exhibitors

Promoted by CECIMO (the European Committee for Cooperation of the Machine Tool Industries), EMO MILAN 2009, the international exhibition dedicated to the world of metalworking, is returning to Italy after six years, announced by UCIMU recently at the Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show in Shanghai. Scheduled in Milan next October, EMO Milan 2009 will be hosted for the first time in the new Milan Exhibition Centre, fieramilano. As an exhibition of the most advanced technology applied to industrial production, EMO MILAN 2009 will provide a complete and variegated offering of machine tools, robots, automation and auxiliary technologies. EU countries and those in Eastern Europe covered 36% of world consumption in the sector of machine tools in 2007, therefore Europe is the leading area for absorption of machine tools, ahead of China (covering 24.8%), South East Asia (11.7%), the United States (9.7%) and Japan (7.3%)." "While the absolute value of acquisitions of production systems made in China is still rather low," said Alfredo Mariotti, Director of EMO MILAN 2009, "imports of Chinese machine tools into Italy over the last five years have seen a constant increase - expanding from 10 million Euros in 2003 to 30 million in 2007." For this reason, said Alfredo Mariotti, "Chinese constructors cannot afford to miss the opportunity of exhibiting at EMO MILAN 2009."
