The "65 m radio telescope system" is the important construction project which was cooperated by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai, meanwhile it has been listed among the major construction projects in Shanghai. Shanghai 65 m radio telescope is a kind of large observation equipment with a variety of scientific purposes, the whole antenna could rotate, and its overall performance ranked fourth in the world, first in Asia-Pacific compared with the same type of telescope. This kind of 65 m radio telescope will participate in China's lunar exploration mission and even the future deep space exploration missions.

The main reflector diameter of Shanghai 65 m radio telescope antenna is 65 m, and achieves the whole welding with the track of 42 m diameter. The entire antenna weighs about 2,640 tons, and about 70 meters from ground level. The 65 m antenna bearing and the pivot combination was designed & produced by Luoyang Heavy-Duty Bearing Co., Ltd. Recently, the technical personnel from Luoyang Heavy-Duty Bearing Co., Ltd have made the field instructions for installing 65 m antenna base and the pivot. Thus the installation task of this project construction will move into the next stage.
