The First Local Large-sized Wind Turbine in Ningxia Lauched off

The first integrated 2.5 MW wind turbine in Ningxia completed the hoist installation at the wind power farm of the Salt Lake County, which indicates that the world-class large-sized wind turbine in Ningxia produced by local enterprise began operating. It is reported that the integrated 2.5 MW wind turbine is developed by Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., specifically for Chinese market. Ningxia Electric Power Group introduced the technology and produced it, featuring high power for single unit and high efficiency for wind power. Ningxia Electric Power Group started technical exchanges and cooperation with Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. in 2006. Mr. Liu Yingkuan, the president of Ningxia Electric Power Group, pointed that, the 2.5 MW wind turbine filled in Ningxia's blank in large-sized wind turbine, symbolizing Ningxia's wind turbine production has been among China's top lists, which could promote the development of wind turbine bearings, blades, control systems and other supporting components in Ningxia, and become the new economic growth point in Ningxia. The wind power farm will be put into operation by the end of this year. At that time, it could realize annual on-grid energy of 186.05 million kwh, decreasing about 238,000 tons of carbon dioxide emission each year.
