Baosteel Lowers December Prices

November 11 – Some 16 steel makers raised their ex-factory prices by 10 to 100 yuan per ton yesterday, reports glinfo.com, citing mysteel.com. Except for billets, the price of which fell by 20 yuan per ton, all steel and metal prices rose steadily yesterday. According to monitoring data, construction materials in 25 cities continued to increase, led by a rapid rebound of imported iron ore. In October, daily output of both crude steel and steel materials fell significantly due to tightening supply of some resource, easing some pressure of supply. According to Baoshan Iron and Steel’s carbon steel future quote for December, the per-ton prices of hot rolling, acid cleaning, cold rolling, zincification and electric steel were reduced by 150 to 400 yuan based on November prices. The steel maker will also offer a rebate of 150 to 300 yuan per ton for purchases in November.
