Jiangsu Baosteel Precision Steel Wire 1st Phase Project Starts

Recently, Jiangsu Baosteel steel wire 1st phase project invested by Baosteel Metal is put into construction. This marks Baosteel's formal entry into the high-grade wire rod product field. After the completion of the project, Baosteel will open up wire rod product industrial chain of steel cord wire rod and finished products. Jiangsu Baosteel precision steel wire project is located in Jiangsu Haimen Haibao Industrial Park and is mainly engaged in auto tire steel cord wire and the photovoltaic industry cut steel wire products. The project will be constructed in two phases. The 1st phase will be put into production before the end of this year and will produce 50,000 tons of precision steel wire. Baosteel Metal also plans second phase project at the same time and the two phases' precision steel wire annual capacity in total will reach 100,000 tons. Jiangsu Baosteel precision steel wire project has high technical requirements. The products are high value-added and the expected economic benefits are good. The project will have a positive role in promoting Baosteel steel cord wire rod extensive processing and accelerating the localization of the Baosteel cut steel wire rod. It is reported that Baosteel Metal has successfully set up a project team composed of excellent technical, management and marketing personnel within the industry, and at the same time construct a small experiment and training plant. After six months of construction and production operation, the pilot plant not only trains the first batch of operators for large plant's putting into production, but also does evaluation and optimization for wetting and pulling equipment, emulsion and grinders used by large plant. The four specifications of cut steel wire products achieve initial market development.
