Schaeffler and XCMG Hold Tech & Quality Day
The XCMG-Schaeffler Tech & Quality Day, an important event for the Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG) and the Schaeffler Group, was held at the New Century Grand Hotel in Xuzhou, Anhui Province on February 28, 2012. Mr. Li Suoyun, Vice General Manager of XCMG and several management, R&D, and purchasing staff from the XCMG attended the event. Representatives of the Schaeffler Group came from Germany, Asia Pacific regional headquarters and China.
The event began with an opening ceremony. Management staff from Schaeffler and XCMG delivered opening speeches and then touched a special crystal ball which, in China, symbolizes cooperation and success for the future. The event was followed by the management meeting, where the two parties discussed the plans and ideas for cooperation in detail. The XCMG agreed with and supported Schaeffler’s local investment initiative and stressed the importance of joint work in research and development.
A technical seminar was also held while the management meeting was going on. Experts from headquarters and the Greater China region of Schaeffler gave insightful presentations with the following topics: application engineering and drivetrain solutions in construction machinery, energy-saving bearing solutions, calculation services and tools, identifying genuine Schaeffler bearings, and advanced bearing technology. Representatives from XCMG said they were impressed with Schaeffler’s advanced bearing technology and believe that Schaeffler’s technological leadership will significantly improve their R&D activities and help provide them with effective technical solutions.
Schaeffler and XCMG both agreed that the Tech & Quality Day is a starting point for them to establish a strategic partnership in the future and speed up technical cooperation. The cooperation between China’s leading construction machinery manufacturer and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rolling bearings and linear products will provide mutual benefit and promote the development of construction machinery and bearing technology.
