Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size in China Experienced YoY Profit Fall of 5.2% from Jan to Feb

Industrial enterprises above designated size in China experienced a profit fall of 606 billion yuan, 5.2 % lower compared with the same period in last year. Among the industrial enterprises above designated size, the state-owned and state-controlled enterprises realized profits of 179.1 billion yuan, decreased by 19.7 % year on year; collectively-owned enterprise realized profits of 10.6 billion yuan, increased by 17.6 % year on year; joint-stock enterprises realized profits of 347.2 billion yuan, decreased by 2.5 % year on year; foreign and domestic Hongkongese, Macanese and Taiwanese-invested enterprises realized profits of 141.9 billion yuan, decreased by 18.9 % year on year; private enterprises realized profits of 200.2 billion yuan, increaseby 24.4% year on year. Profit growth in major industries: oil and gas extraction industry 15.5 % rose in profits; farm and sideline food processing industry 13.3% rose in profits; electricity, heat production industry rose 21.1% in profits; chemical materials and chemical products manufacturing industry 28.8% declined in profits; ferrous metal smelting and rolling processing industry 94% declined in profits; general purpose machinery manufacturing industry 4.6% declined in profits; automobile manufacturing industry 6.5% declined in profits; electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry 3.4 % declined in profits; computer, communication equipment and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry 40.8 % declined in profits; petroleum, coking and nuclear fuel processing industry turned into losses compared with the same period in last year.
