Ministry of Science and Technology recently issued the "12th Five-Year Planning for Informatization Technology Engineering in Manufacturing Sector" (hereafter refered to as Planning. The "Planning" points out that the overall goal of the Informatization Technology Engineering in Manufacturing Sector during the "12th Five-Year" period is: to make breakthroughs in a number of leading and innovative key technologies of manufacturing informatization; make efforts to build a group of digital enterprises, service-oriented manufacturers and industry service platforms; to cultivate the development of productive service industry and manufacturing information software industry and its related service industries, so as to promote significant improvement in the core competitiveness of manufacturing sector, and support the rapid development of local pillar and characteristic industries. "Planning" contains six key tasks including tackling problems in key technologies of informatization technology engineering, integration of group enterprises, development and application of cooperation technology, service platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises, etc.
