Recently, the Leading Group for Establishment of Learning-oriented Party Organization in Wenzhou City, the Propaganda Department of Municipal Publicity Committee, and the Organization Department of Municipal Publicity Committee jointly issued a document to recognize 75 units in Wenzhou City as the first batch of "Learning-oriented Enterprise" in Wenzhou City, and C&U Group was on the list. About the company C&U Group, founded in 1991, is one of the largest bearing manufacturers in China, with its business varying from commercial supermarket, mechanical & electrical trade. Currently the number of employees has reached more than 10,029 and there are 120 subsidiaries (total assets of USD 456 million). In 2008, the sales revenue was USD 816 million. C&U Group has successively been awarded "Top 100 Core Competitiveness Enterprise among Chinese Mechanical Industry", "Top 500 National Private Enterprises", and "Top 10 Efficiency Enterprise among National Priority Industries". The "C&U" is a well-known brand in China, which appraised as the "Most Competitive Brand in Chinese market" by Ministry of Commerce of China, and C&U bearings are honored as "Chinese Name-Brand Products" and "National product exemption from inspection".
