Economic Operation of China's Automotive Industry from January to May in 2012

In May 2012, China's automobile production and sales chain has slightly dropped in terms of the link relative ratio, however significantly increased on year-on-year basis. The cumulative production and sales both show the positive growth year on year. Automobile sales increased by 16.19 % year on year, and 4.66% declined in terms of the link relative ratio According to the the statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the national automobile production and sales in May were 1.5709 million and 1.6072 million units, decreased by 4.66% and 1.06% respectively in terms of the link relative ratio; the production and sales increased by 16.19% and 15.97% respectively on year-on-year basis. 1. Sales of passenger cars rose 22.56% in May In May, 1.2691 million passenger cars were manufactured, increased by 21.56% year on year, and 2.80% declined in terms of the link relative ratio; wherein, 1.2819 million units were sold, increased by 22.56% year on year, and 0.5% in terms of the link relative ratio. 2. Sales of commercial vehicles 4.3% delined in May In May, 0.33018 million commercial vehicles were manufactured, decreased by 2.0% year on year, and 11.9% in terms of the link relative ratio; wherein, 0.3253 million units were sold, decreased by 4.3% year on year, and 6.6% in terms of the link relative ratio.
