Bayi Steel X70 Grade Pipeline Steel Passed Entrance Qualification of CNPC

Substantial progress has been achieved recently by Bayi Steel X70 grade pipeline steel in passing entrance qualification of CNPC. Bayi Steel was formally recognized as CNPC's qualified supplier of X70 grade pipeline steel after over one-year's strenuous work led by its Sales Department and supported by Baosteel Products & Technique Management Department and Hot-rolling Plant.
In 2011, with joint efforts of Baosteel Co., Ltd., Bayi Steel successfully accomplished supply of goods for CNPC's China-Burma 1st phase crude and product oil piping project. Its manufactured 1000t 11.7mm thick X70 hot-rolled pipeline steel coils were commissioned to Zhongyou BSS (Qinhuangdao) Petropipe Co., Ltd., to trial produce φ813 screwed welded pipes. Products fulfilled all relative requirements in testing and appraisal by CNPC Tubular Goods Research Institute and used in China-Burma 1st phase crude oil and product oil piping project.
In December 2012, CNPC organized panel of specialists to conduct onsite inspection in Bayi Steel with emphasis on equipments of production, inspection, testing, and operation of quality system. Onsite appraisal meetings were held. Equipments of production, inspection, testing and operation of quality system were confirmed as fulfilling production requirements of pipeline steel.
Recently, CNPC Material Corporation organized specialist meetings in Beijing on commercial trial production and appraisal of 1000t X70 grade hot-rolled coils and plates. Appraisal committee reached unanimous agreement of Bayi Steel passing the qualification, which ranked Bayi Steel one of the qualified suppliers of X70 grade pipeline steel of CNPC.
CNPC affiliated Baoji Petroleum Steel Pipe, Bohai Petroleum Equipment and China Petroleum & Chemical Shengli Pipe Plant all built plants in Xinjiang. Success of Bayi Steel passing entrance qualification as supplier of X70 grade pipeline steel this time laid solid foudation for providing service for these plants and for engineering construction of piping projects of CNPC.
