"Chongqing made" gear shaft is expected to replace imports

In 2009, Chongqing Xinxing Tongyong Drivetrain Co., Ltd. established cooperation relationship with General Electric Company (GE) for deveoplement of reload locomotive traction motor gear. Since then, GE has brought a number of core technology from design to manufacture concerning this field into Chongqing, and co-built a cooperation base in Caijia Industrial Park. Currently, a heavy locomotive traction motor gear shaft product co-developed by the two sides has completed a small batch production. A company official of Chongqing Xinxing Tongyong Drivetrain Co., Ltd. said, "Through cooperation and efforts for technological breakthrough on the aspects of manufacturing precision, tooth surface roughness, heat treatment processes, etc., we have had our product certificated by several international certification authorities." "Once 'Chongqing-made' traction motor gears are put into mass production and used in engineering applications, they will be ideal substitudes for imported equivalents due to high quality at competitive price. In addition, with the help of GE, these products are also expected to go abroad in the near future." he added.
