JM Bearing Group: Internet of Things adds wings to the development of manufacturing technology

JM Bearing Group Co., Ltd. based in Changshan County of Quzhou, is the first bearing manufacturer in China realized the comprehensive application of the Internet of Things. Back in 2009, the company launched the domestic first tapered roller bearing milling and mounting automatic production line by use of integrative innovation of technology, and obtained national patent. In less than six months, two test lines in phase I were put into operation, and currently, eight lines in the workshop have been comprehensively transformed and put into applications. Yang Xujing, vice chairman of JM Bearing Group said, "Internet of Things realizes the dialogue between the machine. You can achieve real-time information arrival through management processes, without people staring at the machine." Very few workers are needed since the start of whole mechanical operation, and in the workshop, each long production line has only one worker in charge of the operation, instead of one person one machine before. According to Yang Xujing, the total investment in Internet of Things is approximately ten million Yuan. Since the application of the technology, the export sales have increased by 50 %, profit growth 20% , and sales doubled. The current rejection rate of the company is 50ppm, and the future goal is to realize "zero defect", i.e., 3.4ppm.
