Beiman Special Steel produces national standard level bearing steel with ordinary high-chromium steel

Beiman Special Co., Ltd. produced 20 furnaces of bearing steel with ordinary high-chromium steel as raw materials in mid-April, and for 19 furnace of them, the titanium component content is below 50ppm, which means a qualified proportion of 95% according to the new national bearing steel standard*1. Beiman Special used to adopt the low-titanium high-chromium alloy to control the Ti content, thus resulted in higher costs. Beginning this year, the Company works hard to find out many factors that significantly affect the Ti content of bearing steel, including carbon agent, titanium, chromium, roughing slag, steel ladle residual steel residues, etc., and adopts effective control measures to control these factors. Compared with low-titanium high-chromium alloy, using ordinary high-chromium steel can save costs about 26 yuan per ton, and 150 million yuan annually if calculated by montly put of 6,000 tons of bearing steel.
