Igus set to showcase cable, chain and bearing products for theatre techs at ABTT show

At the 2015 ABTT Theatre Show at Alexandra Palace in London, igus is set to exhibit its range of cable management systems, continuous flex cables, plain bearings, ball bearings and linear systems for the theatre and entertainment industry. The products are designed to help theatre technicians manage cables and stage props more easily. In particular, igus will highlight its e-spool cable management system for applications such as lighting beams. The e-spool eliminates the problems associated with traditional reeling drums by allowing many different cable and hose types together in any direction. In addition, because e-spool provides end-to-end connections, no slip ring is required. Another development is igus’s magsnap magnetic adapter, which is for applications where hanging energy chains are used, such as on vertical and/or horizontal lifts. Magsnap holds the energy chain run onto a metallic surface, preventing it from swinging or moving out of its axis of motion — something that can cause unwanted noise and entanglement. The company’s tribo-tape can be adhered to working surfaces to facilitate the frictionless and noiseless sliding of large objects such as sets or props on and off stage. Made from self-lubricating iglidur A160 material, the tribo-tape reduces friction and features good wear characteristics. Igus will be found on stand B3 at the event, which takes place on 24–25 June 2015.
