Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Showcases Shoulder-to-Shoulder Medical Device Engineering Successes at MD&M East 2015

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 11, 2015) - At MD&M East 2015 Conference (Booth 1966), Trelleborg Sealing Solutions will showcase the strength of its shoulder-to-shoulder engineering and design capabilities, which it uses to address the needs of life sciences and medical device manufacturers in a vast array of innovative applications from performance prosthetics to bioreactor bags and drug delivery devices.
A specific example is the work of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions with Freedom Innovations, an Irvine, California-based leader in advanced technology prosthetic devices for lower limb amputees. Freedom's products and technologies are distributed around the world, and provide people with physical challenges the ability to reach their full potential.
Trelleborg Sealing Solutions worked with Freedom Innovations to help advance the Plié ™3 Microprocessor Controlled (MPC) Knee by supplying critical components within the computer-controlled damper inside Freedom's Plié™ 3 MPC knee. This collaboration has enabled Freedom Innovations to achieve a new level of performance when it comes to water resistance, extended use and reduced maintenance. Trelleborg supplied five specifically-engineered components within the computer-controlled damper. These included a Zurcon® AS Wiper, Zurcon® L-Cup, bushing, Turcon® Slydring® and custom fluoroelastomer bladder.
