Japan welcomes Schaeffler and Porsche

Following three consecutive victories – including the one-two finish in the season highlight at Le Mans – Porsche and Schaeffler travel to Japan this weekend for the first Asian outing in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. The aim is to continue this winning streak and extend the lead in the manufacturers’ classification. Schaeffler is partner to the sports car manufacturer Porsche again in 2015. The Stuttgart based company is currently the brand to the fore in the world’s most important sports car racing series, and with just three race weekends to go has a 36-point lead in the overall championship standings. Forty-four points are on offer every event, so that another 132 points are still to be awarded. In addition, at the sixth race of the year, the Porsche trio of Timo Bernhard, Brandon Hartley and Mark Webber who are currently second in the drivers’ classification aim to make up more ground in the title battle. The race in Fuji starts on Sunday at 11:00 local time (04:00 CEST).
