Baosteel launched the world's first BFFS stainless slag processing equipment

Recently, the hot load test of the first set of stainless slag processing equipment in the world was completed in Eastern Special Steel in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, which marked a new breakthrough developed independently by Baosteel was made in the world's top class metallurgical melt slag processing technology. This equipment is capable of processing carbon slag and more complicated and difficult stainless steel slag, playing an significant role in promoting recycling economy and sustainable development of Chinese iron&steel industry.
Eastern Special Steel is a short process stainless steel company located in Jiaxing.As Baosteel's professional energy saving environment protection platform, Baosteel Energy signed a contract with Eastern Special Steel in last September to supply a set of stailess steel slag treatment equipment to Eastern Special Steel with annual processing capacity of 150,000 tons of stainless steel slag.
BFFS slag treatment technology boasts many features such as clean,short process and easy resuse of steel slag, etc., however, the processing technology is very difficult, therefore, Baosteel energy, Baosteel Planning and technology dept.,steel making plant, Baosteel R&D center worked together, made technical research experiment at Baosteel Stainless Steel, conquered lots of difficulties and finally achieved success through technical optimization and innovation.
The construction of the world's first set of BFFS stainless steel slag processing equipment started in Eastern Special Steel last September. Baosteel Energy gave Eastern Special Steel the complete BFFS slag processing technology and equipment design and manufacture solutions, and tracked the entire project , finally the hot load test run succeed.
It is said that after processing, the stainless steel slag can be directly into the ball mill for subsequent separation process and subsequent use for separation of slag from steel and tailings, and the slag has very broad use, such as soil improver, sand blasting, floor tiles, marble, etc.
