MPG honored by EPA as a 2016 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

The casting technologies (also known as Grede) subsidiary of Metaldyne Performance Group, Inc. (NYSE: MPG), a leading provider of highly engineered components for use in powertrain and suspension applications for the global light, commercial and industrial vehicle markets, has been recognized with a 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Energy Management Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognizes world class corporate energy management programs. The annual award is presented by the EPA and the Department of Energy (DOE) to organizations that demonstrate improved energy performance of buildings and plants through a corporate-wide energy program. The Awards ceremony took place April 13, 2016, in Washington, D.C.

In recognition of these efforts, MPG Casting Technologies is honored to have been recently named by the EPA as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. This award validates the hard work of all 4,600 MPG Casting Technologies associates throughout North America. We believe that a strategic, corporate-wide energy management program helps us enhance our financial health and aids in preserving the environment for future generations.”
In 2015, MPG Casting Technologies completed 235 Continuous Improvement and ENERGY STAR projects, saving enough energy to power 1,000 homes for one year. Overall, MPG Casting Technologies energy intensity has reduced five percent over the last three years.
MPG Casting Technologies’ commitment and achievements related to ENERGY STAR are communicated to employees, customers and the community in the MPG Casting Technologies ENERGY STAR video, which can be found on the ENERGY STAR website.
Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than 2.4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to reducing damages from climate change.
“MPG Casting Technologies demonstrates how businesses and organizations can successfully incorporate ENERGY STAR into their corporate strategies to improve building and plant energy performance,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “Their role in energy management is helping reduce our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that drive climate change and preserve a healthy planet for future generations.”
ENERGY STAR has 16,000 partners working to protect the environment through greater energy efficiency, including manufacturers, retailers, public schools, hospitals, real estate companies, and home builders.
