The China deep-sea maximum flow coarse-grained mineral pump pipe system has achieved a major breakthrough
Recently, my country's largest deep-sea coarse-grained mineral pump pipe system, independently developed by the 704th Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, has undergone an extreme test for 8 days at 60 meters underwater in Qiandao Lake. All technical data have met the standards, which is a major step towards the goal of engineering mining of deep-sea minerals, and marks a major breakthrough in the development of my country's deep-sea mining and transportation systems.
After experimental verification, the system flow rate reached 2,000 cubic meters per hour, and new breakthroughs were made in mineral wet nodule production capacity, mineral transport particle size, and slurry concentration. In particular, the slurry pump impeller, volute and other flow-through parts showed no obvious wear after long-term solid-liquid two-phase mixed flow tests. Its high passability, wear resistance and reliability have been comprehensively and strictly verified, and its comprehensive technical parameters have reached the domestic leading level.
It is understood that the system was independently developed by the 704th Institute and co-produced by Shanghai Oriental Maritime Co., Ltd. under the China Ship Science Research Center. The final verification was completed with the help of the new generation of coarse-particle, large-flow, and high-throughput pump pipe system at the lake test base of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation.
As a leading pump enterprise in the field of special auxiliary electromechanical equipment in my country and the lead unit of this project, the 704th Institute has always pursued the concepts of "innovation and transcendence" and "long-term efforts", adhered to the original intention and mission of serving the national strategy, and made the research and development of deep-sea large-flow coarse-grained mineral pump pipe system as an annual key promotion project, and dared to tackle technical problems and make innovative breakthroughs. During the test and verification stage, the project team of the 704th Institute actively and proactively maintained efficient collaboration with member units and cooperative enterprises of the group company to ensure the progressive processing and manufacturing, transportation and installation, batch-by-batch orderly on-site operations, commissioning and testing, and finally completed the test task nearly 2 months ahead of schedule, successfully creating a series of new products for coarse-grained solid-liquid mixed slurry pumps, and made important contributions to the commercial mining of deep-sea polymetallic nodules in my country.
