China First--ZWZ independently develops new carburized bearing steel
The new carburized bearing steel ZWZ17 independently developed by ZWZ has been optimized in composition, effectively controlled in the steel smelting process, and solidified in the production line. A series of heat treatment tests and performance analysis have been carried out to establish heat treatment standards, which has reduced material costs, improved carburizing efficiency, and greatly improved the core hardness while meeting toughness requirements. The bearings made of this steel have smaller micro-deformations in the functional area during service, and their fatigue resistance has been improved. This is a domestic first and fills a gap in the industry.
The company independently developed a quantitative evaluation map of troostite to solve the key problems of practicality and effectiveness of heat treatment evaluation maps. In view of the problem that troostite cannot be quantitatively evaluated in the national standard GB/T 34891, the company has broken through the original 4 rating maps of the national standard and established two series of troostite maps with a total of 16 levels that can be quantitatively evaluated, which has improved the scientific evaluation level of heat treatment quality in the bearing industry and solved the problems of extensive grading, no quantitative basis, and failure to reflect reality in the bearing heat treatment industry for many years.
