China YuanJing Bearing self-developed main bearings hit 10,000-unit delivery milestone

Envision Energy recently delivered over 10,000 of its proprietary main bearings, marking another milestone in China's wind turbine bearing localization efforts. Leveraging system-level, full-process testing and verification, and the proven zero-failure experience of over 8,000 proprietary main bearings in operation, Envision has successfully elevated turbine reliability to new heights, further leading the way in China's wind power industry chain.

Behind the six years of zero failures achieved by our proprietary main bearings is a comprehensive reliability assurance system encompassing design, process engineering, verification, and mass production. Envision's testing, through extreme load, fatigue, and accelerated failure testing, guarantees an equivalent wind turbine life of over 60 years, ensuring that every main bearing undergoes rigorous testing before mass production.

It is worth mentioning that Envision started with materials and independently developed special steel grades, which are significantly better than the industry's general steel in core indicators such as steel cleanliness and non-metallic inclusion control, and meet the world's highest standards.

At the process level, the Envision technical team delved into the forefront of induction hardening heat treatment technology to ensure product quality consistency, developing the world's first integrated induction heat treatment equipment in this new field. After multiple rounds of process testing and targeted tooling optimization, they successfully overcame technical barriers, completed process development, and achieved mass production. This technology boasts high process stability, increasing processing efficiency by 300%. Key quality characteristics are 100% inspected using a portable metallographic microscope, and process stability is ensured through SPC statistical process control, leading to a breakthrough in induction hardening technology for the wind power industry. The new process technology and testing standards not only ensure the reliability of the new TRB main bearings, but also enable industry chain partners to shorten development cycles and enhance the quality and competitiveness of domestic bearings.

To date, over 8,000 Envision-developed main bearings have been operating stably in over 650 wind farms worldwide, maintaining a zero-failure record. Nearly 2,000 of these TRB main bearings have been mass-produced for use on large-scale offshore and onshore platforms. Actual operational data demonstrates excellent performance in key indicators such as temperature control, grease life, and vibration control, fully meeting the design life requirements of wind turbines. In August 2024, the main bearings of the offshore and onshore wind turbine platforms independently developed by Envision all obtained the IECRE certification certificate issued by the internationally recognized certification organization DNV, becoming the first domestic main bearing brand to obtain this certification, using system innovation to promote the comprehensive upgrade of China's wind power main bearing technology.
