CITIC Pacific Special Steel Assists SKF in Launching Near-Zero Carbon Bearing Solution
The 2025 SKF China and Northeast Asia Supplier Conference was recently held successfully. At the conference, SKF launched its near-zero carbon bearing solution to support the green transformation of the industrial sector. CITIC Pacific Special Steel, as a key partner, provided core near-zero carbon bearing steel materials for the project.
SKF's new near-zero carbon bearing is a first in China's industrial sector, boasting a carbon footprint as low as 0.91 kg CO2 eq, achieved through 100% scrap steel and 100% renewable energy manufacturing. The product has been certified by a third-party authoritative organization, meets international standards, and can be readily delivered to global customers. Bearing steel, as a crucial raw material in bearing manufacturing, has the highest performance and quality requirements and the most complex manufacturing process, making carbon accounting and carbon traceability extremely challenging and a core challenge in achieving near-zero carbon bearing projects.
