A high-end bearing R&D and production base in China northern Jiading was completed
Recently, the new factory project of Shanghai Bearing Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Bearing Institute"), located in Huating Town, has completed its final acceptance. The project is expected to gradually commence production starting in the second quarter of next year, with an annual output value of approximately 350 million yuan after reaching full capacity.
The project is located on plot 01-04 in Huating Town, Jiading District, covering an area of approximately 30 mu (about 2 hectares), with a building area of 40,000 square meters and a plot ratio of 2.0. The project's estimated investment is 230 million yuan. Upon completion, the project will become a research and development and production base for high-end bearings used in aviation and aerospace, as well as a nationally accredited (CNAS) third-party bearing quality appraisal, testing, and experimental base.
Established in October 1982, Shanghai Bearing Technology Research Institute Co.,Ltd. (SHBRI) has focused on the research and production of special bearings since its inception, winning over 10 honors including the State Council's Special Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress and the National Defense Science and Technology Progress Award.
As one of Shanghai's first batch of high-tech enterprises, SHBRI has also been awarded titles such as Shanghai Civilized Unit, Shanghai "Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative" Enterprise, Little Giant Cultivation Enterprise, and Patent Pilot Enterprise. The company prioritizes R&D investment, with a cumulative R&D investment of 100 million yuan during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It develops over 100 new products annually, achieving the transformation of R&D achievements in fields such as aerospace self-lubricating spherical bearings, machine tool spindle bearings, and robot bearings.
The completion of the new plant will further enhance SHBRI's scientific and technological level and production capacity, promoting its sustainable and long-term development. After completion, the project is expected to create 200 new jobs and is poised to become a leading manufacturing enterprise in Huating District.
In recent years, Huating Town has continuously optimized its industrial layout and significantly upgraded its industrial capabilities, attracting a number of high-quality enterprises such as Wujiang New Materials, Lei Yunshang Biomedicine, Fangzhide New Materials, and Shanghai Axle Institute to establish operations.
