World Largest EO Reactor Manufactured by China First Heavy Industries Sets Sail for Delivery
On December 10th, the EO reactor for the Sino-Saudi Gulei ethylene project, manufactured by China First Heavy Industries (CFHI), was officially shipped from CFHI's Dalian nuclear power and petrochemical equipment manufacturing base. This equipment broke the world record for the largest diameter and heaviest single EO reactor. As a key core piece of equipment for the ethylene project, the EO reactor has an outer diameter of nearly 9.3 meters, a net weight of 1540 tons, and contains 32,437 heat exchange tubes.
It is understood that the Sino-Saudi Gulei ethylene project is a major benchmark for cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in the energy sector. It is a joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group, with a total investment of 44.8 billion yuan. It is the largest single Sino-foreign joint venture project in Fujian Province to date, and a concrete practice of the deep integration of the Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030".
