First Plenary Session of the Ninth China National Technical Committee for Rolling Bearings Standardization Held

The first meeting of the ninth session and the election of the new term of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rolling Bearings (hereinafter referred to as the Rolling Bearing Standardization Committee) were held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, from January 12 to 16, 2026. Tan Xiangning, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Machinery Industry Federation, Zhou Yu, Chairman of China Bearing Industry Association, Wei Jianhe, Director of Standardization Department of Henan Provincial Market Supervision Administration, and Jiang Wei, Chairman of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rolling Bearings and Chairman of Sinomach Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.

This meeting was hosted by Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd., with 66 committee members (including 9 representative members) in attendance, representing 98.5% of the total 67 committee members who should have attended. Thirty people, including standard drafters, secretariat staff, and other observers, participated in the meeting, totaling 96 representatives. The opening ceremony was chaired by Li Wenchao, Secretary-General of the National Rolling Bearing Standardization Technical Committee and Deputy General Manager of Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd.

The meeting began with a speech by Deputy Chief Engineer Tan Xiangning. Tan Xiangning affirmed the work of previous committees of the Rolling Bearing Standardization Technical Committee and emphasized the responsibilities of the new committee members, focusing on the three key words of "responsibility, compliance, and learning." Tan Xiangning also interpreted the standardization policies and the "fast, high-quality, and strong" requirements for standardization work, and pointed out five major directions for future standardization work: "high-end, intelligent, green, integrated, and international."

Chairman Zhou Yu congratulated the convening of the meeting, emphasizing the strategic significance of standardization for the development of the bearing industry. He affirmed the significant achievements of rolling bearing standardization work during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in areas such as standard system optimization and internationalization. He analyzed the current challenges facing the bearing industry, including opportunities for new technology integration and insufficient high-end supply, and expressed his expectation that standardization would lead the industry towards high-quality development and contribute to the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse.

Director Wei Jianhe welcomed the participants and fully affirmed the work achievements of the Rolling Bearing Standardization Committee, also clearly stating that he would further support the work of the Rolling Bearing Standardization Committee in the future.

Jiang Wei, Chairman of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rolling Bearings, delivered a work report entitled "Strengthening Standard Guidance to Promote High-Quality Development of the Bearing Industry." The report systematically reviewed the achievements and experiences of the eighth committee, analyzed current shortcomings, and put forward clear requirements for the work of the new committee, particularly in areas such as mechanism innovation, standard guidance, international breakthroughs, basic research, and implementation.

The meeting announced the approval document for the re-election of the ninth National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rolling Bearings and issued certificates to the new members, advisors, and honorary members. The meeting also reviewed and approved the new committee's "Charter" and "Secretariat Working Rules," as well as the member performance evaluation system, the "Evaluation Method for Advanced Units in Standardization Work," and the "Evaluation Method for Advanced Individuals."

Standard reviews were chaired by Ge Shidong, Yu Changxin, Xie Xinghui, and Yan Ke, Vice Chairmen of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Rolling Bearings; Zhang Song and Li Hongbin, Deputy Secretaries-General; Zhou Caihong and Huang Cai, members; and Zhao Binhai, advisor. This meeting reviewed and approved 5 draft national standards and 14 draft industry standards, all of which passed the final review. The meeting also solicited opinions on the "2026 Rolling Bearing Standards Formulation and Revision Project Proposal Form," and the secretariat and 5 companies introduced 8 standard development projects and 4 standard revision projects to the participants.

A visit to Sinomach Diamond (Henan) Co., Ltd. was also arranged during the meeting.
