Wanxiang is Seeking Partner to Carry Out a Joint Acquisition

Several days ago, Mr. Lu guanqiu, president of Wanxiang Group, had announced that Wanxiang will purchase some of Delphi's businesses together with certain cooperation partner. That means they are going to carry out a joint acquisition on the Delphi case. In fact, Wanxiang had successfully taken such strategy in acquiring some American auto parts enterprises before, so if every thing goes well, the Delphi case will be simply a matter of experience to them.
To Wanxiang Group, the Delphi acquisition will be the best opportunity to make a promotion. In recent years, Wanxiang's foreign market share increased in an amazing speed, which mainly due to their developing strategy of "expand business from parts to whole; from domestic to oversea; from second tier market to first tier market". In China, Wanxiang have been a successful first tier supplier. Then, to be the worldwide first tier supplier is their target.
Following the acquisition of UAI and other foreign enterprises all of which are in the lower end of value chain, Wanxiang began to move the operations of the acquired enterprises to China, where cost of labour force is cheap. By this way, they got a 100 percent return on investment.
However, Wanxiang always present themselves in the oversea market as a second tier supplier. If the they could purchase some businesses of Delphi, the world leader in auto parts industry, they would shortly complete their promotion from second to first tier supplier.
Therefore, purchasing Delphi's businesses are of great importance to Wanxiang. However, cross nations acquisition will arise so many problems, especially in American where the labour union intervened almost every aspect of enterprises. So to find an American partner to carry out a joint acquisition will be better.
Wanxiang didn't reveal any details of their prospective partner.
