ZWZ Invests in Swedish Machine Tools

Wafangdian Bearing Group Corp. (ZWZ), one of the China's largest bearing manufacturers, is investing heavily in high-precision Swedish machine tools. The company said Lidkoping Machine Tools AB, (division of Karolin Machine Tool, Sweden) is supplying nine high-precision bearing grinders to Wafangdian. The throughput capacity of each new grinder is in the neighborhood of 10 million bearings per year, or 90 million for the installation. Lidkoping President, Johan Westberg, said: "This order from Wafangdian is very important for us due to the fact that other Chinese bearing manufacturers tend to follow Wafangdian concerning machine investments." Until 2000, Lidkoping Machine Tools was a division of SKF AB, the world's largest bearing manufacturer. In China, Lidkoping has also supplied high-precision bearing production equipment to several bearing manufacturers, including Wanxiang Group, which acquired ID/OD grinders and hard turning equipment, and integrated wheel hub bearing assembly manufacturing lines. Recently, Lidkoping revealed a new generation of high-precision ID grinders. The ultra-small footprint turnkey Nano Grinder uses air bearings and linear motors for "touchless" handling with a production resolution of 0.1nm.
