The key project of the engineering application of main bearings for super-large diameter tunnel boring machines signed

On October 16th, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held a cooperation consultation meeting to elevate their strategic partnership. During the meeting, 20 central SOEs and 21 CAS-affiliated research institutions signed contracts for 40 key collaboration projects, including the engineering application of main bearings for ultra-large-diameter tunnel boring machines and the commercialization and application of synthetic biology research findings. These projects span fields such as artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and future energy, with a total value exceeding 7 billion yuan.

Central SOEs and CAS-affiliated research institutions are crucial components of the nation's strategic scientific and technological capabilities and serve as the backbone for promoting the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation.

According to reports, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the Chinese Academy of Sciences will focus on three key areas: long-term, systematic, and integrated collaborative innovation cooperation, continuously improving and enriching their cooperation model. They will adhere to long-term planning, deepen long-term strategic coordination, strengthen long-term project planning, and solidify long-term cooperation mechanisms, accelerating the transition from "short-term cooperation" to "long-term collaboration." They will also adhere to a systematic approach, strengthen multi-sectoral collaboration, and enhance joint innovation across the entire supply chain, accelerating the shift from "single-point breakthroughs" to "connecting and forming a chain." They will also adhere to integrated cooperation, optimizing top-down coordination and task concentration, accelerating the transition from "single-handed" to "corporate operations."

Industry insiders believe that the Chinese Academy of Sciences possesses strong basic research and original innovation capabilities, while central SOEs have significant advantages in application scenarios and large-scale markets. The collaborative integration between the two parties is of great significance for jointly providing high-quality technology and accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into practical productivity.

It is understood that since the two parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement in 2023, collaborative innovation between central SOEs and the Chinese Academy of Sciences has continued to deepen and become more practical. In the past two years, more than 200 enterprises affiliated with more than 60 central enterprises have cooperated with more than 60 scientific research institutions affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, signed more than 600 cooperation agreements, and accumulated project funds of nearly 10 billion yuan. The foundation of cooperation between the two sides has been continuously consolidated, the scope of cooperation has been increasingly expanded, and the results of cooperation have been accelerated, continuously opening up the channel from strong science and technology to strong industry and strong economy.
