LYC independently developed spindle bearing for 20+ MW offshore wind turbines selected as a provincial-level major technical equipment

The Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the list of Henan Province's first major technological equipment to be certified by 2025. The Group's independently developed offshore 20+ MW wind turbine main bearing was selected. This product, a new, long-life, high-reliability TRB main bearing for my country's offshore wind turbines, not only fills the gap in domestically produced 20+ MW wind turbine main bearings but also provides key support for the independent and controllable development of my country's offshore wind power equipment.

As a long-life, high-reliability, "heart" component of a new structure in the offshore wind power sector, this bearing is tailored for ultra-large wind turbine platforms exceeding 20 MW. Leveraging its innovative TRB structural design, it achieves three major breakthroughs: In terms of adaptability, it can flexibly match mainstream semi-direct drive and other models of wind turbines over 20 MW both domestically and internationally, comprehensively covering various offshore wind zones such as the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea. In terms of performance, its load-bearing capacity, fatigue life, and marine corrosion resistance are significantly improved compared to traditional products, enabling it to easily withstand extreme offshore environments such as high salt spray and strong gusts, ensuring long-term stable operation of wind turbines. In terms of independent development, it has overcome numerous technical bottlenecks in bearing materials, precision machining, and heat treatment, achieving full independent research and development, completely reversing my country's dependence on imported main bearings for high-power offshore wind turbines.

This breakthrough is the result of Luoyang Bearing's years of technological development. Relying on the industry's only National Key Laboratory for Aviation Precision Bearings, the R&D team repeatedly optimized the bearing structure and heat treatment process to address the product's "high power, large size" characteristics. Through multiple rounds of extreme environment simulation testing and bench verification, they ensured product reliability reached internationally advanced levels. Currently, the core parameters of this main bearing rival those of similar international products, and innovations in key areas such as TRB structural optimization and integrated retainer design have significantly improved cost-effectiveness and ease of operation and maintenance, earning recognition from several leading domestic wind turbine manufacturers.

From 7MW to over 20MW, Luoyang Bearing has continuously broken the record for domestically produced wind turbine bearing power. This product's selection as the first provincial-level equipment marks my country's breaking of the foreign technology monopoly in the field of high-power wind turbine main bearings. This will accelerate the process of domestically producing high-power wind turbine main bearings and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of my country's new energy industry.
