Chengdu-made wind power bearings rank first globally in total delivery volume

In the workshop of Tianma (Chengdu) Precision Machinery Co., ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "TMB"), a set of wind turbine bearings rolls off the production line every 3 minutes on average. These precision components, with a diameter exceeding 4 meters, are supporting more than 30% of the global demand for new wind power installations with an annual production capacity of over one million sets. This means that for every three new wind turbines installed globally, one of the core bearings comes from this company in Southwest China.

Fan Jiaqiao, the company's sales director, revealed that TMB's output value reached 1.6 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, and is expected to exceed 3 billion yuan for the whole year. Its global delivery volume of wind turbine bearings has jumped to first place in the world, with products covering a full range of units from 4 MW to 25 MW, and it has broken the foreign technological monopoly to achieve batch exports of large-megawatt-level bearings for offshore wind power.

Founded in 2016 and originating from Zhejiang Tianma Bearing Group, this southwestern company initially only supplied bearings to Dongfang Electric, with annual sales revenue of less than 2 million yuan. The turning point came in 2021 when its independently developed 8MW offshore wind turbine main shaft bearing rolled off the production line. Leveraging this technological breakthrough, it quickly seized the global market, topping the global market share for newly installed wind power capacity that year and maintaining that position ever since. This technological strength stems from continuous investment: R&D expenditure accounts for over 5% of its revenue, it holds 110 patents, and has established four R&D centers in Shanghai, Chengdu, and other cities. Its independently developed "flexible model calculation" technology can accurately simulate the performance of bearings throughout their entire life cycle.

To support capacity expansion, the company has invested 5 billion yuan in the Qingbaijiang European Industrial Park to build a smart manufacturing base, introducing 120 internationally top-tier pieces of equipment and six intelligent production lines. Once operational, this will add 5,000 high-end wind turbine main bearings to its annual production capacity, with over 70% destined for overseas markets. Leveraging its logistical advantages as the origin of the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu-Chongqing), TMB exported over 2,000 TEUs of bearings via the train in 2024, reducing delivery time by 40% compared to sea freight. Local tax management services have also provided over 300 million yuan in tax and fee reductions over the past three years, further supporting its development. Today, TMB not only focuses on the wind power sector but also extends its reach to high-speed rail and aerospace bearings, participating in the supply chain construction of China's large aircraft and exploring integrated "wind power + energy storage" systems. From a small supporting factory to a global champion, this "hidden champion" is reshaping the global competitive landscape of new energy equipment through technological innovation and intelligent manufacturing.
