Newtock anti-surge valve safeguards the tens of millions of cubic meters of natural gas transportation for Changqing Oilfield

On April 16th, a major achievement was reported from the First Gas Production Plant and First Purification Plant project of Changqing Oilfield in Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province: the first two sets of large-scale electric-driven centrifugal natural gas compressor units from Jichai Power successfully completed a 72-hour continuous and stable operation test, with daily natural gas output exceeding 10 million cubic meters. All operational indicators of the units exceeded design standards, marking a significant breakthrough in the engineering application of domestically produced large-scale centrifugal compressors. This provides strong impetus for the stable transmission of natural gas through the national pipeline network and the guarantee of energy security.

As a core supporting key equipment for the project, the two sets of anti-surge valves配套 (supporting) the units were independently developed and supplied by Nutrak Fluid. This successfully achieved domestic substitution for high-end control valves, breaking the long-standing reliance on imports for such key control valves. With core domestic technology, this provides a solid guarantee for the independent control of energy equipment and the implementation of the national energy strategy.

The 6200kW electrically driven centrifugal natural gas compressor unit, put into operation this time, is the core equipment of the Changqing Oilfield natural gas booster and transmission project. Each unit has a daily output of 5 million cubic meters, capable of stably boosting purified natural gas from 4-6MPa to 9-10MPa within the station, facilitating successful connection to the West-East Gas Pipeline. This is of crucial strategic significance for enhancing the interconnectivity of regional natural gas pipelines, strengthening emergency peak-shaving guarantees, optimizing the national energy structure, and solidifying the winter energy supply defense line.

The anti-surge valve, as the "safety throat" of the centrifugal compressor, directly determines the unit's operational stability, safety, and efficiency. Addressing the stringent requirements of high-pressure, high-flow, and long-cycle operation under these conditions, Newtock, leveraging its years of experience in high-end control valve R&D and manufacturing, deeply adapted the solution to the unit's operating characteristics, tailoring a domestically produced anti-surge valve solution to ensure smooth start-up and shutdown, stable operation, and safe regulation of the compressor unit throughout the entire process.
